Dr Gregory House Character Analysis

Dr. Gregory House is a character in the hit TV show House M.D. He is an infectious disease specialist who is defined as an unfriendly character. Although he has a nasty personality, people cannot help but love his affection with unravelling medical mysteries. He is a genius when it comes to diagnosing rare medical conditions, thanks to his intelligence and his crew of diagnostics, which include Dr. Foreman, Dr. Chase, and Dr. Cameron. Dr. Gregory House describes himself as “the most curious man in the world.” (Blake, 2004) He is completely selfish, he enjoys picking out people’s imperfections, and putting them on display, he shows scornful hatred for authority, he also is considered ill-mannered and tenacious. Through all this cockiness, his cunning intelligence shines through. He is a certified diagnostician that specifies in nephrology as well as infectious diseases. They help inspire and influence their team to attempt to be better. “Leaders have the solutions and they readily provide them, clarifying everyone’s roles, and responsibilities, maintaining order, and shielding the organization from external threats in the process.” (Heifetz, 1997, pp. 123) Dr. House is a perfect example of a leader. He demonstrates extraordinary powers of observation, conclusion, and brutally honesty. When it comes down to it, he will not sugar coat anything. Dr. Nolan and he are having a conversation, and Dr. Nolan asks House, “Why do you value your failures more than your successes?” Which Dr. House does reply, “Successes only last until someone screws them up?
