Dr. E. Weppler: Their House In Space

Decent Essays
Dr. E Weppler was a strange man whom barely anybody knew much about. All his neighbors knew was that he was a scientist who only spent his time in his office busy with some bizarre idea he had to get to space. The only reason people knew about this outlandish mission was because when he took his morning walks, precisely at eight thirty in the morning every day, he would always be talking about something like “a lift off” and “the house in space.” Obviously you wouldn’t find a normal person talking about their house in space. Aha! I must introduce myself, I am Ambrosia L. Spaulding and I have decided to come investigate what this Mr. Weppler is scheming up.
“Bye Mom,” I yelled as the door slammed behind me.
“Bye sweetie, be back by supper!”

1 Bill Denbrough thinks: I'm damned near space-travelling; I might as well be inside a bullet shot from a gun. This thought, although perfectly true, is not one he finds especially comfortable. In fact, for the first hour following the Concorde's takeoff (or perhaps liftoff would be a better way to put it) from Heathrow, he has been coping with a mild case of claustrophobia. The airplane is narrow-unsettlingly so.…

I found Thomas P. Stafford really interesting to read about. He has always seemed to have an exciting life filled with action. From doing my research, I found two things particularly interesting about him. The first thing I noticed about him is that he is an author. After finishing his work with NASA, he wrote many books with others, but one of the more popular books he has written is titled We Have Capture: Tom Stafford and the Space Race.…

One day, little Billy Hopkins was drinking chocolate milk in the kitchen while he was drawing a picture of the moon. He loved everything about space, but he loved the moon the most. He also really loved chocolate milk; he would drink glasses of it in one setting if his mom would let him. Once he finished drawing the moon, an idea popped into his head: what if he could drink chocolate milk on the moon? Combining his favorite things like that would be the best.…

With the emergence of a new space race in recent years, the topic of space exploration has come under fierce scrutiny. Combustible claims are being thrown into the forges of debate from both the opposing side and those that fervently follow the exploits of the various space agencies. While both sides of this debate have various logical points, they both tend to follow the same well-traveled track. The opposing side of this argument tends to charge forth asking, why should we spend money on such an expensive endeavor when we have problems to solve right here on earth? Whereas the side in defiant favor of space exploration routinely counters with an argument that space exploration is an undertaking of rich discovery that benefits all of humanity in the long-run.…

In discussions of space exploration, one controversial issue has been whether or not humans should colonize space. Space colonization is the permanent habitation of any area outside of the Earth. During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union were in competition to become the ultimate spacefaring nation. Many people in the 1960s believed that within the decade, space exploration would be possible. Now as the technology to make faster and more powerful spacecrafts is progressing, the venture is becoming more and more of a reality.…

Exploration of the Space “Space, the final frontier” is a popular phrase from the television show Star Trek. However, even though this show is fictional, the idea of space exploration is truly real. It may be interpreted in different ways, such as, a need for human exploration or the next destination for human expansion. For centuries, the stars have mystified people all around the world, and it was not until recently that exploration began. Within the last one hundred years, man not only developed flight, but took it a step further delving into the vastness of the universe.…
