Dr. David Van Horn: A Short Story

It was a bright and sunny day in the middle of September in the big apple. Cosmetic Scientist Dr. David Van Horn was working on his newest line of fragrances and lotions for the upcoming season. David hoped that the line would jumpstart his sad and depressing career, which his wife had actually left him because of it. He stayed up for many nights trying to find the perfect scent combination. But sadly, after countless hours of hard work, all of them failed. He finally gave up and went to bed. He had an odd dream that night, one like never before. It was pitch black in his dream and he was sitting at some type of table. A cold breeze flew through the room making David shiver at the feeling. Something then proceeded to give him a very specific formula on how to …show more content…
“That's what the police told everyone because they couldn’t catch me” Dr. Holmes said, with a subtle smirk.
“So your the one who put the poison in the lotion? Wait. how did you get in my dream? This is too much” David said. “I didn’t get in your dream” he chuckled. “ I used hypnosis to get you to follow me back here and listen to my instructions, which you followed willingly” Dr. Holmes said. “and it won’t take long for the police to find out who made the lotion that killed half of the world” Dr. Holmes smirked
. David realized in that moment he had to do something, he wasn’t sure what, but he couldn’t let this man murder the entire world. He looked around and tried to locate an object to stab him with, but he then realized that Dr. Holmes was a lot bigger and stronger than him so that wouldn’t work. He was stuck, all of the times where people told him how dumb and uncreative he was flooded into his head. He then got a brilliant idea, the one thing the Doctor couldn’t resist was lotion.
“ Hey Doctor Holmes? Would you like some lotion? I have some in my bag that my company is testing out”, Dr. Van Horn said with an innocent
