I have taken part in many extracurricular activities over the past year. If I had to pick the three activities that I have enjoyed the most, however, I would say my involvement playing both chess and football, as well as my time volunteering for the Manitoba NDP. For the past few years, my primary passion has been the game of chess. I began playing in 2014 and soon discovered that I am unusually gifted at the game. I have won the past three consecutive provincial titles and each of these victories qualified me to compete in the national championships where I became a leader for Team Manitoba.…
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Robert Williams. A kind and intelligent student, Robert is making the most of his high school career. Robert has exhibited these characteristics both in and outside of the classroom. I have been impressed with his dedication to academics and community.…
I would like for you to get to know me a little bit better. I'm going to tell you just a few of my passions. You can tell a lot about someone by their interests. Growing up I’ve always been raised around sports. Basketball it was the Denver Nuggets until Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony traded teams.…
My name is Bryan Waddick, I am thirteen years old and have lived in Dubuque my whole life. I live with my mom, dad, two brothers and my dog. My family is very into sports, both of my brothers and I play hockey, baseball and lacrosse. I also play football and track here at Roosevelt. We are all very into technology and own a lot of it.…
Outside of my academic activities, I have a strong passion for sports and exercise. As a student-athlete for over 14 years, I have learned the value of hard-work, dedication, and determination. Establishing these invaluable attributes early on made it possible for me to become an NCAA Division III lacrosse athlete. Sports dramatically shaped the person I am today and taught me how to step to work in unison with my teammates to achieve a common goal and simultaneously step up as a leader.…
Basketball became my favorite sport when my daddy first took me over my uncle house and watching my cousins play basketball against each other. At the age of 10 my dad bought me my first basketball goal, then my friends start coming over and play with me. I love basketball so much I started playing them for money. Playing for the school was my best time ever. Elementary to middle school I started point guard and shot my first game winning shot in the eighth grade.…
What is something you will sacrifice your time and effort for? What is something you can do for hours on end without getting tired of? What is something you get excited about just talking about it? If I were to ask you what your passion is in this world, what would come to your mind? If you were to ask me, it would be baseball without a doubt.…
An accomplishment I had in my past was only have 5 loses on entire season of baseball last year. In years past we had been very bad. We worked our tails of every practice and during lifting we came back every year better than the last. Last year was so special because it was our last year together, we had been together for 5 years through thick and thin and in the past year we really got it together.…
When I was a kid my favorite sport was basketball, mainly because my grandfather played basketball at Oklahoma State University (OSU) for the infamous Henry Iba. My grandfather and I loved watching basketball, no matter what the level of competition, we simply enjoyed spending time together and sharing that love for the game of basketball.…
Sports has always been a major benefactor in my life. From the time I was four till I was about twelve, I played softball. I soon lost the interest in that but I have four brothers so I’ve always been around football and basketball.…
- Personal Statement For as long as I can remember I have always loved sports. Most children are naturally playful, but for me, my desire to be active stretched well pass my childhood years. In elementary school I was a part of a little league baseball team, in middle school I ran track, and in high school I became an even more diverse athlete by joining the baseball, basketball, and soccer teams. It was during that time when I realized my passion for sports medicine.…
As a kid, I’ve always loved sports. I always dreamt about being like my favorite player, Kobe Bryant. I would always practice my game winning shot celebrations and taunts. I always wanted to be a profession basketball player. Since then, I have learned that I’m not good enough to play professionally, but my love for the game hasn’t changed.…
Growing up, I loved sports, watching, playing, and listening. It didn’t matter how or where, if there was a game on I was most likely watching it. As I grew even older I began to play the sports that I loved so much, football, basketball, and baseball. Being a three sport athlete my entire athletic career, I have seen the benefits that one sport brings to another. It also brings a certain level of sanity being a multi-sport athlete.…
“Runners on your mark…Set...Poww!” Those were the last sounds I heard during what could have been my last race of my sophomore year in collegiate Track and Field. It was a frisky, yet cool Saturday in April and after a strong performance in the previous indoor and outdoor season (4x100m and 400m), I was determined to continue and uphold my strong form on this day. There is a saying that things do not always turn out the way we hope, but I believe, there is always a positive lesson to be learned from every life event. I love sports.…
While many student-athletes specialize on one sport today, I played three different sports during the fall, winter and spring: soccer, basketball and baseball. Some people may say that my love of sports started as a ball boy for my father, who by coincidence, coaches three varsity sports. For whatever the reason, the passion that I have for sports is genuinely undeniable. Besides playing three high school sports, I also enjoy playing golf, tennis and volleyball.…
