Dr. Black: A Fictional Narrative

Dr Black really looked glad to be a Rabbi.
I asked him, ‘’But do you miss your job as a professor? You were a candidate for the Nobel Prize’’
After, thinking for a while, he answered. ‘’I always had a dream to be a religious man, I have too much love that I want to share with people and I want to help everyone’’

He answered, ‘’ I could’’
I asked ‘’ so why you

I loved everything about Rabbis the way they dress, talk, wisdom and how people feel relieved when they talk to them.’’
I asked, ‘’ why you studied Engineering if you already knew you want to be a Rabbi?’’
He answered, ‘’ I grew up as the oldest kid for a poor German Jewish family. Most of the time we didn`t have dinner or lunch that is how poor we were. Studying Judaism would have fulfilled my dream to become a Rabbi but not our need for money. While, studying to become an Engineer was our ticket out of poverty. I had to scarify my dream for the sake of my family. I have never ever forgot my dream. You know, if you don`t achieve your goal it keeps chasing you day, night and even in your dreams. Finally, I got to stop running away from my dream.’’
I couldn`t understand how he accomplished all these achievements in the field of Engineering if being and Engineer was never his dream or goal.
I asked ‘’ but, how did you make all these achievements in Engineering although you studied Engineering just to secure money for your family?’’
He answered ‘’ to be successful in something you have to have a reason to love what you do and if you don`t find it you create it. That reason would be your motive to continue or to keep on

On September 9th, 2017 I saw the show “The Magic Negro and Other Blackness” performed by Mark Kendall. The show depicts the struggles of what black actors/actresses have to struggle with whether that be their history to getting parts in shows. Mark brought life to the show by making it humorous and adding a layer of making it somewhat comfortable for all audiences to experience and have a laugh. He also brought the audience closer by using the audience members to help him relay his message and help white people somewhat understand what a black person feels One thing that Mark said that has resonated with me is “I really don’t know how to make people comfortable with uncomfortable situations” and I completely agree! Throughout the entire performance,…

Unfortunately, some decisions, Elnawasrah’s included, will never satisfy all of a person’s objectives, hence the sense of regret that Ryan felt. However, by his tone of voice when asked “was this the right decision?” he was confident, and understandably so, since Ryan clearly has the skills, passion, the analytical ability to pursue engineering. It would be interesting to see, however, how excessive social influence leaning towards engineering may have influenced his…
