Dr. Benjamin Carson's Speech

Did you know that Dr. Benjamin Carson is the first American Neurosurgeon to successfully separate a conjoined twin who were joined at the top of their heads? Dr. Carson grow up in poverty with a single parent who dedicated her life to make sure her son would become successful in life. “As a child I hated poverty,” Dr. Carson stated within his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. Although he was born in a situational stage were poverty was his main obstacle, Carson mother didn’t allow the situation to stop her son from becoming successful. She limited his freedom of free time and focused his attention to success. Based of his mother persistency and perseverance, Carson is now a well-known Pediatric Doctor who is currently running as one of the Republican Presidential Candidates. Carson endorsed a title on the situation in which listeners resist on hearing a speaker out as “P.C Police” known as Political Correctness. He give an example by stating a personal reference to a speech in which he compared a human brain to a dog brain and offended an audient member. His insinuation of this made the audience to laugh and gathered their attention in the direction to which he was driving toward. Based on this statement, he was able to create a common ground with his audience in other to indicate that not everything he says within his speech will be pleasant to everyone. Dr. Carson than went on to say that we need to forget about eliminating ourselves from hearing a speaker out and showing respect to the speaker. This is because certain member of audience tend to focus more on their emotional feelings and end up missing the important message within a speech.
