Dr. Ben Carson has had many successes in his life, and in his biography, Gifted Hands, he explains his formula for being successful in life. Setting goals and making plans in a person’s life will allow them to see what they need to do in order to achieve those goals. Dr. Carson’s formula for success in life is explained in his THINK BIG acronym. The three most important ideas for success in life from THINK BIG are knowledge, books, and God.
I believe that knowledge is a big when it comes to success. Knowledge helps you gather information so that you may become wiser. Ben read many books after his mom tried to change his ways by reading about many different subjects.His favorites was rocks he read many books including knowledge of rocks . One day in science class his teacher brought in a rock and said would someone tell me what rock type this is no one raised their hand after a while Ben raised his hand and said,¨It is a sedimentary rock¨. He learned this in one of his books. From then on he read more books in all subjects and started understanding all his other classes and making good grades. Reading books helped him grow up to be a famous neurosurgeon. Another experience was in college when he was failing his classes and needed help he tried everything but nothing helped. It took him a while then he realized that he learned best with books. He had a lot to learn so he hired a fellow classmate to take notes in the class and he would study them in his dormitory after the class.Books can help in all subjects that is why they are key to success in my opinion.
God is a big help when it comes to success. When Ben was thinking how he is going to pass the test he was really worried. Son he prayed he would be able to pass. That night he had a dream about the instructor writing stuff on the board he did not understand why he was writing these things. The next day he was about to take the quiz and looked at the first question the question was the first question the professor wrote on the board
