Cinematography is what makes films whole. It is basically another important aspect of telling the films story and giving meaning to the characters and setting they are in. It is meant to keep the viewer on the edge of their seats or to allow them to feel some sort of emotion for the characters in the film. I noticed this quite a bit in the film Double Indemnity. I think that cinematography is significant in this film because it gives meaning to it's environment and characters while allowing the viewer to feel tension when the characters are in trouble.
