The movie Upside down written and directed by Juan Solana’s. Juan Solana dose an outstanding job at telling a classic love story between two lovers from opposite worlds while giving it a strange yet appealing twist. This PG-13 dramatic romance was released in 2012 and was viewed and loved by many. Actors Kristen Dunset (Playing Eden) and Jim Sturgess (Playing Adam) come from very different worlds in the movie yet somehow are able to fall in love and connect despite where they come from and their differences. Just as Romeo fell in love with Juliet in Williams Shakespeare play. Eden is like a forbidden fruit that Adam falls for and then losses tragically. However, Adam later realizes she may not be lost and dedicates himself to finding her despite all the risks he must take. They are two planets connected by the concept of double gravity. The idea of double gravity is that these two places the upper world that Eden lives in and the lower world that Adam lives in have opposing gravity. Creating an upside down appearance of one world depending where you are looking from. Almost as though the people in the opposite world are standing on what would be the celling of the other world. Adam lives down below in a lower class poor environment where as Eden lives up above in the upper-class environment. This idea of different classes and different worlds makes the movie relatable to the real world by separating classes not only wealth but by actual living location.
