After the perfect ending of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy is unsatisfied and decides to come back to Oz. However, Dorothy goes magic hungry and starts taking all of magic in Oz for herself. She turns the lovable creatures we know, such as the scarecrow, the lion, the tinman, and Glinda into terrible things. Happy munchkins are nowhere to be found and the unfortunate Amy Gumm gets stranded in the middle of this whole mess. Amy Gumm is a normal teenage girl, but she has more problems than everyone thinks. Her mother is a druggie, she lives in a not-so-well-kept trailer, and she has to deal with an annoying, pregnant girl named Madison …show more content…

Amy goes inside and worries about the bad weather when next thing she knows, a tornado picks up her trailer and lands her in Oz. She goes through a terrible mess of problems; at one point, she is locked in Dorothy's prison with no one else besides her pet rat. A boy named Pete, whom she had encountered earlier in the book, helped her get out. However, Amy was forced by unknown agreement to join the Order of the Wicked. A group of "wicked" witches fighting against Dorothy to get Oz back to normal. This is where Amy falls in love with "witch boy" names Nox. By the end of the book, Amy's efforts to kill Dorothy fail when Dorothy disappears from Amy's hands as they're falling towards their death. With efforts from the Wizard, Ollie (a monkey Amy saves at the beginning), and other witches from the Order of the Wicked, Amy was saved from a ton of catastrophe. One question still remains though, where

Regarding the lifting of the supervised visits and extending the visitation time for Dorothy, in the March 2013 mediation meeting we agreed this would be negotiating at the next mediation, scheduled for May 31, 2013. Contingent on the agreement of unsupervised visitation and a longer visitation duration is that Dorothy would: o Complete a 60 day outpatient. 12 step dependency program o Provide evidence of a clean drug test The expectation of completing the 12 step program and having a clean drug test was that Dorothy would then demonstrate sound judgment regarding her visitation with Nicholas, such as returning him to my custody at such time that her visitation hours were completed. It should be noted that the events of this past weekend…

The meaning of the play wraps around “there’s no place like home”. The meaning or theme of the whole story is a quest for security. In the beginning Dorothy is in The Unknown Place, and has no idea how to get back home, so a quest for security fits the over all theme of the play. For me the word security explains her…
