Thankfully, June 9th was a gorgeous day in spring, a perfect day to go to Dorney Park. The amusement park and waterpark consists of towering roller coasters, astonishing thrill rides, amusing water rides, and much more. On the contrary, the other side has a Wildwater Kingdom which includes big slides, tube rides, and many more water activities. Some of the most famous ride favorites at Dorney Park include Hydra, Steel Force, Talon, and Possessed. Although Talon travels quickly, it is two minutes and thirty seconds which is very long for a normal roller coaster. No matter what, this ride is worth the wait because it of how long it is. Unlike most roller coasters, it is two minutes and thirty seconds which is longer than most of the roller coasters at Dorney Park. Also, it has drops from as high as 135 feet that makes the ride more enjoyable. In addition, Talon has amazing twists and turns slithering through the park. The twists and turns are evidently the best part of the ride because it allows the riders to have a longer, more pleasurable time on the ride. There is absolutely no doubt that Talon is the best ride at Dorney Park. Overall, the trip to Dorney Park will be remembered for being one of the most unforgettable and awesome field trips I have ever

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

Some things nostalgic; Puerto Rican Day parades, celebrations of American and Dominican Independence days, cookouts on the sidewalk, people watching on the once-deteriorating stoops, hip hop pulsing through passing car’s speakers, cherry-flavored piraguas, bathing in the refreshing cold water spewing from open fire hydrants. Some things, such as rampant gang violence and the sounds of police helicopters circling the neighborhood, are not as favorably remembered. However negative the image of the barrio may be, the Latino community undoubtedly carved their culture deep into these spaces. The sense of neighborhood that the predominantly Latino population created is in the…
