Dordt College has played a very important role in my family's lives. My great grandpa, R.J. Dykstra, was involved in the beginning stages of Dordt College and my mom and my brothers have attended Dordt College. They have told me numerous times that Dordt College does an outstanding job instructing you in your chosen major, but also how to incorporate God into every area of your life. My parents have told me many times that college is the best time of your life. You have the opportunity to learn about a specific career, while being surrounded by life-long friends. That is one of the reasons I have chosen to attend Dordt College next year. I am excited to attend Dordt College because of the community. I have been to the basketball, volleyball, and soccer games, and the environment of the crowd is energetic and positive. From my visits I could already tell that the professors are interested in each and every student. They care not only about their education, but also their faith. It is important to me to have a good education that is Christ-centered and that is Bible based. When I visited Dordt, I was able to attend and observe a few classes. It was exciting to see the professor’s involvement and interaction with the students. I was able to see how enthusiastic and passionate the professors were, and how they …show more content…
I am confident that at Dordt, I will be encouraged to grow in my faith with the chapels, the classes, and the other students around me. I am excited about the chapels at Dordt. Since the chapels are not mandatory, the students that attend have a real desire to praise and worship the Lord and grow in their faith. The praise band has come to my school, and every time I was impressed with their connection to the students, and their willingness to come and worship with us. Pastor Baart has spoken at my school and he seems very passionate about the Lord and the Dordt College
