Dora Otero As A Hero Essay

Despite being born in El Salvador, Dora Otero is an American hero that encompasses the morals and values of the United States of America. She believes in giving equal opportunity, putting her family’s needs before her own and being a good neighbor.
She believes in giving everyone an opportunity, and this belief lead her to receive burn scars that would impact her health. When she was living in El Salvador, her house was burning down and her invalid sister, paralyzed from the waist down, could not move. She ran back into her burning home and tried to save her sister. She successfully saved her sister, but hours later her sister passed away. This is something any American would do – run into a fatal situation to give a family member or a person

Months after the birth of her daughter, her husband left and she took on the world as a single parent. She made sure her daughter was ready for school and took care of her. It was a tough life she led to make sure her family was stable. Years ago, she remarried and gave birth to another child, a little boy. Right now, her family is going through a rough patch financially, since she is a stay-at-home mom and her husband is the only source of income. She still works hard to make sure the money they have goes a long way. Also, she never stops supporting her children’s dreams, no matter how far-fetched they may seem.
Everyone deserves “life, liberty, and property.” As a hero, when a string of thefts were happening in her neighborhood, she tried to guard her neighbors from being a victim of these crimes. In addition, if one of her neighbors needs help and she can help them, even knowing that there is a risk involved, she will.
To conclude, despite not being “American born” Dora Otero is a hero that encompasses America’s values and morals. She believes in giving everyone an opportunity, no matter how slim the chances of receiving it are. She believes in family and always prioritizing them, and she also believes in protecting her
