Introduction In this paper, I will be talking about the act of congress called the Patriot Act which is officially called USA PATRIOT (an abbreviation of “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001”). The main concern of the act was to increase security, and in that increase of security, federal organizations and agency like the NSA (National Security Agency) were now allowed to survey citizens without warrants. In Silicon Valley, California a massive improvement in crime fighting in taking place in the form of a security guard robot named K5 that was designed by a company named Knightscope. The video on business insider demonstrated just what this bit is capable of when it comes to its crime reducing abilities. One of the most positive actions performed by K5 was when it was shown to be able to detect things like theft and violence and contact the authorities as soon as it detected one of those instances. This is positive for a couple of reasons, the first one being that these robots provide more “eyes” to detect crime instead of just relying on people who may not always be on the alert and as such would not be able to detect any criminal activity as well as these robots can.…

Why did robots control us was the main question. I suspected that the adults in our community were either lazy or didn't have the knowledge to give us the facts we need to live. We called the robots “they.¨ “They” were supposed to command anything and everything for us.…

Many people are afraid of robots because of how robots are portrayed in science fiction. The problem here is that people use these stories as examples of how robots will take over the world even though the robots in the story are the product of the writer’s imagination. It’s the same way as with zombie stories - a strange, antagonizing force is made up to create conflict and make the story more interesting. The only difference here is that robots have a real life counterpart, while zombies have none.…
