Friday June 2012, at Hinton Crime Lab Institute of Boston, Massachusetts Annie Dookhan was convicted for tampering with evidence and lying under oath about her chemistry degree. Dookhan’s co-workers described her as “superwoman” because of how fast she tested evidence, specifically drugs. It was stated that other lab technicians usually tested about 150 drug samples a month, meanwhile Dookhan was testing up to 500. Dookhans supervisor commented that he never saw Dookhan in front of a microscope, all of this raising high suspicion. Dookhan worked at Hinton Crime Lab for nine years where she tested more than 60,000 drug samples, putting over 11,000 people in jail, who may not even belong there.
