Dont Judge People During The Holocaust

Decent Essays
Don’t Judge

During the Holocaust I think that what caused people to treat others so badly was that some people thought, other people weren't worth enough. They treated them as if they weren’t nothing. In today's society we still have people that treat others badly by race. Some people also judge people based on their religion.

It all started with a man who thought he could blame some innocent people for something they didn’t even do. Whenever Hitler came to power he treated the Jews with discrimination. I can relate those times to today’s society. What some people do today is not as bad as what went on back in the 1940’s but it is still cruel to others.

In conclusion feel like we should all treat others as we would want to be treated.

In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, Elie does a good job of showing how the jews treated each other in times of suffering people start too show comfort too those they love but the suffering gets worse, the treat each other poorly. During times of suffering, people start too treat each other with comfort and support, but as times get worse, they treat each other poorly. These societies were similarly conditioned to hate a group of people thought to be inferior, and this prejudice was visible not only on a personal level, but in the laws of their governments and actions of their societies. For the Jewish people in Germany, they first lost their rights to citizenship and were the victims of cruel propaganda before they were sent to concentration camps as part of Hitler’s “Final Solution”. In the concentration camps, they were subject to various atrocities including starvation, brutal beatings, and death by gas chamber at the hands of Nazi officials. "Comrades, you are now in the concentration camp Auschwitz. Ahead of you lies a long road paved with suffering” (Wiesel 41).…

Paulo Freire once said: “Dehumanization, although a concrete historical fact, is not a given destiny but the result of an unjust order that engenders violence in the oppressors. Which in turn dehumanizes the oppressed.” During the holocaust, the Jews, and anyone in the camps, were forced to do hard labor without any breaks, without being fed hardly any food, and in terrible conditions. They were abused, maltreated, downtrodden etc.. by the natzis, kapos, and the S.S officers. There were nuremberg laws placed on the Jews and they couldn’t do anything without being afraid of dieing.…

Dear Mr, Elie Wiesel. My English recently finished your book "Night", one of the few survivor stories of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is the epitome of genocide, which always begins with an idea and like a wildfire, it grows. I've had a chance to observe this mentality amongst others. Discrimination among differences still exists.…

The cruel hands of the SS guards struck relentlessly on the dehumanized victims. The inhumane camp held the minorities captive for what seemed to be endless periods of time. The saddest aspect of the Holocaust was not how many lives were lost, but how how many souls were killed, tortured, and put through excruciating pain. By the end of Night the surviving prisoners were completely different people, people who could only think about the horrid, monstrous things in the world, people who were guilty for what they were forced to watch and do to their fellow prisoners, people who had very little humanity left in them. At these camps, Jews, and other “imperfect” humans, were deceived and lied to, forced to turned against each other, and turned…

The Nazi’s made the Jews feel worthless and unhuman. They all lost years of getting to be themselves, find themselves, and to have individuality. These three causes of dehumanization don’t even explain everything that caused the Jews to feel less human during the Holocaust. Elie states, “From the depths of the mirror, a corpse was contemplating me. The look in his eyes as he gazed at me has never left me.”…

Perhaps the most dreadful event in recent history is the tragedy that befell the world during the Holocaust. Throughout a twelve year period, the Nazis were able to wreak havoc and torture innocent people purely because of their “inferiority”. The Nazi ideology was rooted in the idea that the German race was superior to all, and this state of mind was behind all of the atrocities that took place in Germany and surrounding areas. While the majority of the worst travesties took place during the final years of the holocaust, there was a significant build-up to those events, which took place throughout the years from 1933 to 1938. During these years, the Nazis began to show their true intention to the world, and began their systematic persecution…

The sequence of choices that certain people make, can be a factor that brings events to fruition or put a movement to a stop. Although almost all of the people during the Holocaust had a part to play, there were people that significantly shaped history through the choices they made. Have you ever wondered why people are so mean? Maybe because they don’t like them, or they are jealous so they put them down and make them feel bad. I think it’s because they want other people to notice them and give them all the attention because they have more, so they think they should be treated better.…

We see the change in human behavior due to the traumatic events of the Holocaust. People are forced to kill their loved ones in order to eat. The people that don’t take advantage of others are killed by the ones that do. As humans, our instincts will always be to help ourselves before others. There is no way the Jews could have kept their instincts inside them during the Holocaust.…

As you read this paper I would like you to think about this one question. Why do we treat others so horribly in our society and how may you relate the Holocaust to our modern society. Here are 2 of my own opinions of why I think people today treat others so badly is, that they just do it for fun and laughter or they were commanded to and had no choice. Here is a reason I think the Holocaust began. Germany lost World War 1 and Hitler needed someone to blame it on, so he blamed the imperfects so I think their german government probably suggested to blame and punish the imperfects.…

European Jews were treated terribly by Nazi Germany during WWII. They were faced with horrific circumstances and inevitable fates. Jews were dehumanised and treated as if they were a threat to Germany and if they were not disposed of, their supposedly evil and nefarious mannerisms would, ironically, soon destroy Germany as a race. According to the film, Schindler 's List, the discrimination of Jews and the actions the Nazis took to expose them was non-expectant and unpredictable.…
