Donors Choose Website Essay

I spent time exploring the Donors Choose website and thought that it would be a great resource for teachers. I liked the idea that there is a website where teachers can write a short description of what supplies they might need for their classrooms, and people can donate their money to such a worthy cause. As many people know, most teachers have to pay for additional supplies needed for their classrooms out of their own pockets. This website allows teachers to write a short description of needed supplies or additional resources they may need or want to improve the learning environment for their students. After the teachers post their short description of what is needed, people can then donate money to their specific cause. This is a great way for teachers to individually or in groups, crowd fund in order to meet the needs of the population they serve.
If I had an unlimited budget, I would choose to spend my money on the “Old School and New School… Pencils and Laptops” by Ms. O. Ms. O asked the people of Donors Choose for money to buy three Chromebooks for her classroom. She has found that her students benefit from using the Chromebooks because they are of high interest in comparison to reading a paper book.
