Great discussion on Donna’s case. I enjoyed reading it. I agree with you that weather changes in spring and fall makes Donna susceptible to having a Type I hypersensitivity reaction towards pollen. According to Faris (2015), allergic rhinitis symptoms appear as outcome of airborne allergies. Different people experience the symptoms through out the year and others experience them seasonal depending on particular allergies (Faris, 2015). In Donna’s case, it seems she is allergic to specific allergens during the spring and fall seasons. Faris (2015) further indicates that breathing pollen and other allergens causes cold-like symptoms.
