When friends of mine who are trump supporters inform me that they support him, I understand the reasons they picture him as our future president of the united states. Donald Trump has never been an elected official. He has never held elected office of any kind. But Washington, D.C., is not Wall Street, and getting things done in the nation’s capital takes more than a big personality and strong will.…

Next year promises to bring us one of the most polarizing and ideologically charged presidential elections in recent memory. The first decade and a half of the 21st century has witnessed momentous changes in the American political landscape from threats of foreign and domestic terrorism to a resurgence of philosophies once thought to be extinct from the public consciousness. During this pivotal moment in our history however, many Americans are losing faith in either party’s ability to cater to their needs which has in turn created a set of circumstances under which people with more radical ideas have at last enter the national spotlight. One such person is a self-proclaimed socialist caucusing with the Democrats named Bernie Sanders who has…

At last, the long national nightmare of the Democratic Party’s Presidential Primary race is over. Senator Bernie Sanders, who arguably ran a spirited campaign albeit, a disingenuous, demagogic and unrealistic one, (though he has yet to formally concede defeat) has finally acknowledged that his path to the nomination is all but over. As a liberal, I know this is a provocative piece and one that is bound to be unpopular among young progressives. Also, given the full-scale efforts with which the Democratic “establishment” are courting Senator Sanders, treating him with kid gloves and twisting themselves into pretzels in the hope that he will quietly go away, I am certain this article…

First, Trump’s political and military background, or, lack of it. Donald Trump will be the first president of the United States that has done zero years in public office and zero years of military service (Crockett). Even the other presidents who had no political experience before entering office, Zachary Taylor, Ulysses S. Grant, and Dwight Eisenhower, did at least 20 years of military service. This is important because it shows his lack of experience and how easy Trump is going to be influenced in his four years (and hopefully no more than that) as…
