Transformational leadership is a style in which a leader seeks to change and engage followers and the organization by creating a compelling vision, strategy, and culture (Weiss, 2015). This conclusion was arrived at due to the fact he is making decisions that change something for the better. He took a railroad yard and made it the city convention center. He took over the family business and changed the name to the Trump Organization. These instances and many more lead to the conclusion that he is all about change. The TV reality show, The Apprentice, was about changing how people operate in the business world, and their ability to change and fit the situation presented to them. His vision for the United States is to change it for the better. The tag line from his campaign, Make America Great Again, shows his desire to change what he believes is wrong in the country today. Donald Trump is also a transactional leader. He is willing to get into the trenches and do the work necessary to be a success. If he was unwilling to do the work required to succeed he would not be where he is …show more content…

By cutting the health care tax, is he really saving Americans money? Where are the funds coming from to pay for the uninsured patients? What about job creation? The U.S. economy added 227,000 jobs in January in the first employment report of President Trump’s administration, the government said Friday (Boyer, 2017). Trump does get credit for this, but how much of it is a direct result of his presence in the White House? When looking at Trump, all that is seen is a self-centered, egotistical business man who is full of self-serving ideas and a bad hair do. I think there is more to the man than people realize. He has been very lucrative in the business world and based on the number of people employed by him, 34,000+/-, he is as big a servant to them as they are to him. He is out in the world of politics making a name for himself. He is not going to take the annual salary offered to the president. He is talking tax cuts. The economy is up and this is reflected in the federal

Before delving further into leadership and management theories and styles it is good to understand the difference between a manager and a leader. Bennis and Nanus (1985, p221) state that ‘managers are people who do things right and leaders are people that do the right thing.’ Yukl (2002, p7) goes on to suggest that leadership is the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how it can be done effectively, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish the shared objectives. However, Stodgill (1974:7) powerfully stated that ‘there are as many definitions of leadership as there are persons who have tried to define it.’ Although there are varying definitions to leadership…

Donald Trump was an unexpected runner for this year’s presidential election. At first, many people thought his running for the presidency was a joke. Unfortunately, as time went on, what many thought to be a joke suddenly became more serious as more and more people began to show him support and he shows no sign of dropping out anytime soon. Which is unfortunate since much of what he says is far from being presidential, let alone professional. From what I’ve seen of his speeches and debates, he often makes terrible statements about other candidates as well as other groups of people, building off of peoples hate to rally more support.…
