Sulking tempers, outbursts, and verbal abuse may have reached all-time highs between candidates; however, the promises made and ideas imposed by each elective have not budged an inch. Per the National Bureau of Economic Research, ethnic diversity seems to be the major determinant for rioting in L.A., while little evidence points to poverty in the community as a large cause. Americans were not rioting for a cause or fighting against injustice; they were simply taking advantage of a lawless situation. To say George Bush drove his presidential run towards specific communities is unfair but strongly possible. Bush understood his power as president. In that sense he reiterates to all citizens that you must respect the process of the law regardless of the outcome. He did however, have to answer to all of America while trying to prove his current occupation in the meantime. Much in the same way, Donald Trump puts his ability to lead and his fearlessness up front and center for all of America to see, he has geared his run towards specific groups of voters. When he was asked about Black Lives Matter, Donald responded “I know nothing about Black Lives Matter.” (Coleman) He admonished others for backing down about expressing one’s own views in the light of acknowledging the Black Lives Matter movement. On the television show O’Reilly, Trump continued his expressions of control and power by stating “They’re trouble, I think they’re looking for trouble.” In reference to BLM activist and their true intentions.
