Donald Trump Plan Analysis

Question 1.) “What is the main purpose or key question of the article?”

“The Trump Plan” is an article written by the editors at the National Review. The article evaluates Donald Trump’s views on immigration. While the writers are relaying his views to the reader in a seemingly civil way, they do take subtle shots at Donald Trump. Someone who they referred to within the text as “The Donald” (THE EDITORS 2015, p. 14). The Purpose of this article is to inform the reader of the infamous Donald Trump’s immigration plan (or lack thereof). This is very prominent throughout the text as the article tends to go over his views from the start to the end of the article. The key question being asked by the authors is less of a specific question

The article states many, if not all of Donald Trump’s stances on immigration. Again, like I stated above; the authors seemed to disagree and look down upon Donald Trump. The bias that is certainly possessed by these authors is that they don’t like Donald Trump in the political world. Judging by the lack of informing evidence used by the authors to defend their snarky responses to the Donald’s views the reader can easily develop this opinion of the authors. The bias of the authors could and should be addressed with evidence. Plain and simple. When these authors were calling Donald Trump’s plans “fraught”, “an impossibility”, and “absurd” (THE EDITORS 2015, p. 14); they weren’t using any evidence to back up their remarks. In order for the reader to truly get behind the writers, the writers must provide substantial evidence, in order to lure in the …show more content…

It has now been one year during Trump’s time in presidency, and it would seem as though that his administration has yet to hit any of the big milestones that promised during their campaign. While they did gain some small victories in the past, it does not seem as though they would it big as of now. Even so, they still face nonstop backlash towards their approach to our government’s lawmaking and policymaking ideals. And yet, they will still continue to move forward, and stay on the same agenda, to which is the path of a businessman whom seeks out for a wealthy and stronger America. It is no secret that Donald Trump has developed a zero-tolerance policy for undocumented migration into the United States, going as far as proposing the “building of a wall” to prevent the influx of our neighbors to the south. Trump’s relentless immigrant-expulsion plan has sparked great controversy all across the nation, particularly in hispanic cultural centers such Phoenix, Arizona. In an interview, Donald John Trump, an American businessperson and a Republican candidate running for president, specified: “ The immigrants are bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, and they’re rapists. It’s coming from Mexico. It’s coming from the south and Latin America and it’s coming, probably, from the Middle East, but we don’t know because we have no protection.” As a result of the immigrants coming into America, Trump wants to create the immigration plan. If Trump’s plan is carried out, the Mexicans would be unauthorized to enter America because of the “great great wall,” possible recessions and riots would take place, and all illegal immigrants including the birthright citizens will be forced to leave America.…

Trump believes that illegal immigration is destroying U.S. taxpayers, and he believes that neither Republicans nor Democrats are helping the situation. Republicans don’t do anything about illegal immigration because some of their business supporters want cheap labor. Democrats look at illegal immigrants as potential Democratic voters (135-136). Both Democrats and Republicans may have their reasons for illegal immigrants to stay, but Donald Trump thinks that the parties need to put America’s interests first and that illegal immigrants need to return from whence they came. Trump then continues to discuss that illegal immigrants are by definition, lawbreakers, and refers to them as “illegal aliens” due to the fact that illegal immigrants are often members or violent gangs.…

Now you may be wondering what a political essay is doing in a literary magazine, something that is home to the likes of poems, fiction, and the occasional art piece. I can not really provide an answer to that question, but what I can provide an answer for is the tense political race for the White House, which has outsiders that have gained significant ground on both sides, particular Bernie Sanders, the “Democratic Socialist”, and Donald Trump the “Successful” Businessman. We can talk about smaller issues all day, and make a 45-page article about how Bernie Sanders is too old to run or how Trump’s hair is to bad for him to become president, but what this essay is going to focus on is the major issues, the social, economic, and immigration issues.…
