Donald Trump's Presidency

Great Essays
As we all know, President Barack Obama’s second term is coming to an end, and we have a new President elect, Donald J. Trump. Let’s have a small background check on Donald Trump; he was a real estate entrepreneur, actor, and now a politician. Donald Trump was born in New York, NY on June 14, 1946. His family is full of immigrants. His grandmother and grandfather were born in Germany and they immigrated to the United States. His father was born in the states, but his mother in Scotland. Even his wife is an immigrant from Slovenia. This within itself contradicts all of Donald Trump’s plans. He wants to get rid of all immigrants when nearly all his family are immigrants. When he started out his business, his father gave him, “…a small loan of …show more content…
From that day forth, he has been attacking people along with their ethnicities left and right for not being white, not born an American, or just having a background from another country. He called Mexicans rapists, drug smugglers, and killers. He wants to put a ban on all Muslims from entering the country. He made fun of a fallen US Military Soldier who died for his men because he doesn’t like losers, and in his book, people who die for their country are losers. Moreover, the list goes on and on about how Donald Trump makes himself look good, by having others looked down upon. Donald Trump makes tells so many lies about people, and he defaces them so much that they don’t want to be near him anymore. They don’t want to run against him or cooperate with him. Besides this completely contradicts the vision our founding fathers had for this country. When George Washington finished his second term, he refused a third one even though the people wanted him to rule. He did this to set a precedent for the following presidents. But if this offer is put out to any other president on the 20th and the 21st century, they would take it with no …show more content…
First and for most, we must know our rights as US citizens. Did you know that your child has the right to life, a name, and a nationality (Convention on the Rights of the Child)? Did you know that powers not given to the federal government by the Constitution belong to the states, then the people (10th Amendment)? Did you know that there are rights that are reserved for a citizen that won’t be explicitly mentioned in the Constitution (9th Amendment)? If your answer to any of these questions is no, it is essential that you brush up on your knowledge of your rights. This should be your only defense in the case of an attack. If someone starts getting in your face because you don’t support Donald Trump or you’re an active Muslim, you should be able to respond to that person by saying that he’s denying your 9th Amendment right. If he / she insists on staying in your face, you should threaten them by saying you will call the police, then actually call them if they don’t stop. Occurrences similar to this should happen to people in one way or the other. The problem is, if you don’t know how to defend yourself properly, you will fall into their trap and you will paint a terrible picture for you, the people around you, as well as the group of people you are defending. As long as we stand firm on our grounds as proper American citizens, we will not get influenced by Donald

I remember when Donald Trump first announced his political run for office. He built his campaign on the slogan: We’re going to Make America Great Again, “reinforced” by his bold claim of “building a wall”. When Trump got down into the weeds with Megyn Kelly during the first Fox News Republican debate, I sensed Donald Trump was a proud and arrogant man. I went on my own campaign against him; making phone calls, writing emails, calling news agencies and talk shows, posting madly to Facebook — whatever I could do to try to stop a really bad person from wrecking the Republican Party and damaging the nation. NeverTrump was my obsession, but it was, at that time, merely political for me.…

Election day is approaching and regardless of the outcome, it will definitely become a historic event. Timothy Egan (2016) shares his opinion towards Donald Trump in his Op-Ed article, “The Immigrants Turned Away.” He is certainly not a Trump supporter and uses the time remaining, before Election Day, to warn U.S citizens about Trump’s plans concerning immigration. Pathos is applied the most throughout Egan’s argument because he prefers to connect with his audience on a personal level. Ethos and logos appear in the argument to provide evidence and strengthen his writing.…

Domestic tranquility in the United States is outlined by the Constitution and can be better understood as the way in which society lives in harmony (Wilson). Unfortunately, society has not reached a state of tranquility yet. This can be traced to ideas of racism, sexism, and other means of discrimination in the United States. Although some strides have been made to try and counteract these modes of discrimination, society has recently taken a step back in its development towards a tranquil state. Specifically, the rhetoric used by Donald Trump has been linked to ideas of racism and sexism.…

In this world, our society faces many struggles that they cannot handle. Donald Trump becoming president would be a downfall of the people that’s already struggling today, such as marriage rights, abortions, financial, and a lot more other situations. There are many books and films that talks about a situation like Trump becoming president and what could happen if he does. A world in which a man like Donald Trump can be considered president is defective because we have already been warned from books such as Fahrenheit 451 which is about a fireman who burns books and starts fires rather than putting them out. It’s related to my topic because once Donald Trump gets going, he won’t stop till he gets what he wants.…

The American dream is often characterized or described with luxuries and fame, although this is not the wrong approach to the infamous American dream, this is the dream of the citizens of this country. But if we take a different approach and ask immigrants what their American dream is, we discover a different perspective of the American dream. For many immigrants in the country , like myself, the American dream involves prosperity and the opportunity to reach higher education. Unlike U.S born citizens, undocumented immigrants have to work twice as hard to achieve any form of stability in the U.S, due to the fact that many needed resources are non-existent. The inevitable contrast between these two distinct approaches to the American dream,…
