Political ideology is an unchangeable variable within the political system, throughout each election ideologies are constant serving two functions: (I) shaping a candidate's proposals to fit the borders of their beliefs, and (II) allowing citizens to be able to identify with candidate’s proposals. In the context of international trade three ideologies, Marxism, Mercantilism, and Liberalism can be utilized to classify candidates' policies and their potential consequences.
