Donald Trump's Influence On Politics

Improved Essays
Consistently throughout the current 2016 election, Donald Trump has not defied traditional public relations strategies, but he has also defied social media norms and discourse when discussing issues that he is passionate about. Not only does he attack people on social media, but he also uses personal insults to try to demean his opponents and other famous figures. Trump has consistently been known as the most outspoken candidate throughout this whole election, which is loved by some and detested by many others. He’s supposed to be not another “career politician;” however, the way that he consistently attacks people on a daily basis is just proving how not only is he extremely childish, but he is not taking current issues seriously. Even though …show more content…
Supposedly, Trump is targeting the audience of people who have been silenced over the past last eight years and he has become very successful in capturing their votes. Through multiple social media post everyday, he has made people believe that any terrible atrocity that happens can only be fixed if he becomes president. This type of mentality has not only made people believe that he is the answer towards current problems in the world, but it has also mongered hate among Americans towards minorities and immigrants who have , supposedly, become the “problem.” I think that the most puzzling aspect for me throughout the course of Trump’s candidacy is how his completely unconventional tactics have been looked upon as a positive aspect for Americans. I am also struggling to understand whether the way he runs his campaign will be a direct correlation on how he may possibly run the country. Also, if he’s elected, will he be less aggressive of increase his aggression like Hitler did in the early 1940s. If I could give advice to the other candidates, I would tell them to continue their conventional ways of running their campaigns because eventually, Trump will dig his own grave. Constantly attacking people on a daily basis and claiming that they are the only person to fix this country is not a realistic interpretation of the future leader of this country. I think that the way that Trump has campaigned will hurt his overall image and long term reputation. Not only has he managed to isolate and insult many demographics, but he has also burned so many bridges with current and past business partners that are practically un-repairable. I think that if Trump’s public relations team had more control over what he says and puts out on social media, we would appeal to many more demographics then he does right

Specifically, in this article, Chris Cillizza voices his opinion of Trump’s views on content regulation, which gives Trump a negative view concerning the rights of the press to relay facts to citizens. This also may easily sway others, through the power of news media influence and media effects to feel the more urgent need of voicing out their own opinions and complaints against Trump. As an effect of this negative bias of Trump, people may in turn become more aware and keen on finding more negative values of Trump and thus allows more news journalists to write of his supposed foolish actions of him and his supporters in order to gain more support of their views through interesting…

Donald Trump’s slogan may be “Make America Great Again” but that will never be reality with him as president. According to polls from Huffington Post on Apr. 3, 45 percent of Republicans favor Trump. With blatant statements for everything ranging from women to war, the real estate tycoon dominates over the presidential election despite being the most unqualified candidate due to his political career, or lack thereof. I remember when Donald Trump first announced his political run for office. He built his campaign on the slogan: We’re going to Make America Great Again, “reinforced” by his bold claim of “building a wall”. When Trump got down into the weeds with Megyn Kelly during the first Fox News Republican debate, I sensed Donald Trump was a proud and arrogant man. I went on my own campaign against him; making phone calls, writing emails, calling news agencies and talk shows, posting madly to Facebook — whatever I could do to try to stop a really bad person from wrecking the Republican Party and damaging the nation. NeverTrump was my obsession, but it was, at that time, merely political for me.…

Under the veneer of praising Donald Trump in the title of her essay – “The rhetorical brilliance of Trump the demagogue” (Mercieca, 2015), Jennifer Mercieca explores Trump’s rhetorical strategy to rally the American public into supporting him in spite of his offensive rhetoric. Using Donald Trump’s December 7 Statement on Preventing Muslim Immigration (Trump, 2015) as an example, Mercieca puts forth this essay to explain Trump’s “profound and persistent appeal” (Mercieca, 2015) through demagoguery in his speeches. Mercieca's primary exposition on how Trump’s ideas are framed and entrenched through rhetorical devices has led to his ability to successful craft a political narrative which positions himself as a hero saving “a nation in crisis”…

The leading candidate for the republican party is a person who is running on the basis of America being broken, whereas in 1968 Nixon was able to address issues the US had while also improving them. Frum talks about how Nixon made laws to help civil rights, while remaining true to his conservatism. This is exactly what a Republican should seek to accomplish, however Trump goes out of his way to deliberately insult the country and simply say that what it is doing is wrong.
