In an interview, Donald John Trump, an American businessperson and a Republican candidate running for president, specified: “ The immigrants are bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, and they’re rapists. It’s coming from Mexico. It’s coming from the south and Latin America and it’s coming, probably, from the Middle East, but we don’t know because we have no protection.” As a result of the immigrants coming into America, Trump wants to create the immigration plan. Trump believes that illegal immigration is destroying U.S. taxpayers, and he believes that neither Republicans nor Democrats are helping the situation. Republicans don’t do anything about illegal immigration because some of their business supporters want cheap labor. Democrats look at illegal immigrants as potential Democratic voters (135-136). Both Democrats and Republicans may have their reasons for illegal immigrants to stay, but Donald Trump thinks that the parties need to put America’s interests first and that illegal immigrants need to return from whence they came. Trump then continues to discuss that illegal immigrants are by definition, lawbreakers, and refers to them as “illegal aliens” due to the fact that illegal immigrants are often members or violent gangs.…

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, known as IRCA, is related to racialized sentiments. According to Golash-Boza, the discussions of implementing the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 raised racialized sentiments about Mexicans. Mexicans were thought to be a threat as they were seen as “taking jobs from Americans, overusing welfare, and refusing to assimilate” although that was opposite of what was actually happening (Golash-Boza 374). The time when Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was being discussed was the time when the economy was bad and so blame went to Latin Americans, whom at the time were moving to the United States in a great number while “[generating] waves of nativism and anti-immigrant sentiment”…

One of President Obamas Executive orders that I am going to talk about is his order on immigration. I chose this topic because it hits close to home as I come from immigrant parents and have had the opportunity of meeting and working with so many immigrants that are looking for opportunities and a better way of living for their families. These are hard working individuals that have had to make the choice of leaving their country, home, and family in order to better provide for them. We live in a country that is full of opportunities and dreams, it is the American Dream that everyone chases. The U.S prides itself in being a country of dreams and a home built of immigrants, but when it comes down to taking action of all the immigrants living here no one wants to do anything about it.…

Even though it grants amnesty to those that enter the US in accordance to the terms of the new contract requirement, which has the potential to be problematic, the US immigration reform is better than the previously more strict immigration policy. The US immigration reform is better because it decreases the chances of people trying more dangerous methods to enter the US, the more lenient influx of workers will help stimulate the economy, and it allows for immigrants to work in the US without Americans having to worry about the unemployment rate skyrocketing. And rather than shut out our neighbors the immigration reform opens up our border for more positive relations. First, the US immigration reform is better than the previous policy because…

Trump’s plan is to eliminate programs that help benefit those who are undocumented, unfortunately not everyone under the program is undocumented which would potentially lead to millions of Californians without affordable health coverage. Although there is a downside, many do not realize there is a good percentage of people who enter this country only to recieve benefits but do nothing in return. In addition to the loss of affordable health care for not only illegal immigrants but U.S citizens as well, the concept of immigration appears to be on everyones mind. Throughout his campaign, Trump made it clear that he will promise to create a massive deportation, potentially deporting an estimate of millions of people. However, now that Trump has won the election,…
