Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story, continually setting the standards of excellence; President Elect Donald Trump has rooted his campaign on the idea to “Make America great again”. In a government that is created by the people, for the people Trump vows to always be our voice, never letting us down, exclaiming, “Now it’s time to get to work – to unite, to prosper, to become stronger. Together, I have no doubt we have taken the first step to Make America Great Again!” (Make) With an eager desire to return the United States of America to a state of prosperity in which Americans are thriving and our hopes, our dreams – our limitless potential – become a reality. Within the next ten years it is predicted that under Trump’s economic plan a total of 25 million new jobs will be created as well as a 3.5 percent growth in the economy (Gass). Trump defies critics and stands firm in his belief that nearly a 4 percent growth is achievable in an economy despite possible lurking variables (Swoyer). Evidently Donald has placed a high value on insourcing and providing jobs for americans as well as stressing to keep jobs within the United States borders. Even in an economy that is currently slowed by a number of factors including increased automation, low wage competition over seas and an aging workforce trump presents his proposal with an optimistic way to look at the economy’s potential. Innovation is the easiest way to create jobs and innovation is an area in which president elect is quite familiar (Hecker). When inquired about creating job potential Trump confidently responded, “I will fight for every last American job, [and American companies] we are going to be fighting for you because you are bringing the jobs” (Swoyer). Trumps elaborate plan includes eliminating intrusive regulations including the Waters of the U.S. rule which is a largely a technical document, defining which rivers, streams, lakes and marshes fall under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps …show more content…
In addressing the results of the election Trump vowed to unify a deeply divided nation, planning to work hand-in-hand with the new administration to advance an agenda to improve the lives of the American people. House speaker Paul D. Ryan declared with determination, “...Now we must turn our focus to Bringing the country together” (Services). In response to being called a bigot and questioning his opinion on the “Black Lives Matter” campaign, Trump answered with “All Lives Matter.” Trump said we will unify the country – that we have big problems that most people don’t truly comprehend (Shapiro). President elect stresses the necessity and desire to bring change through working together proudly asserting, “We have before us the chance now to make history together; to bring real change to Washington, real safety to our cities and real prosperity to our communities, including our inner cities, so important to me, and so important to our country.” (Bereson) The opportunity to be historical is within Trumps grasp and he has made it evident that his intention is to leave a lasting impact on our country in a grand way. Since being elected Trump has shown signs of being a compromiser.
