Immoderate. That is one of the best ways to describe Trump’s opinion on LGBT topics. Although opinions are every changing, especially those of politicians, who work to appeal for the public, Trump and Pence remain immoderate. I think we shouldn't trust him because of his controversial behavior, choice in running mate, and Pence’s extreme quotes and statements.

It’s no secret that trump is on the wrong side of controversial topics. Surprisingly, there is an article stating that “(we should) give Donald Trump credit for one thing: bathrooms” (Cupp). The article then goes on to say that Trump has a very simplistic and minimal opinion for “this very controversial, thorny issue”(Cupp). However, Trump’s opinion, to avoid having a law and ignore transgenders all together, seems like he is brushing the topic aside. His running mate, Mike Pence, does the same thing. He has said several times that "the federal government has no business getting involved in issues of this nature.", the issues being the bathroom laws and other LGBT topics such as same sex marriage and anti-discrimination (Schneider). It is important to see that these politicians remain immoderate and, more importantly,

For one, Pence has signed many laws and petitions that are in favor of LGBT discrimination. Whether he is against gay marriage or transgender bathroom rights, some of his quotes go against many modern beliefs. One of the worst things that he has done is sign the Religious Freedom Act, which enables discrimination of LGBt members in businesses. The infamous homophobic has also stated, “societal collapse...brought about following an advent of the deterioration of marriage and family”(Drabold). By societal collapse, I can only assume that he means the less strict reinforcement of homophobia in modern churches, schools, and homes. All in all, Mike Pence was a questionable choice for running mate, and he has made Trump's campaign

Barack Obama's religious background is more diverse than that of most prominent politicians. In spite of the fact that his given name signifies "blessed" in both Swahili and Arabic, President Barack Obama was not brought up in an especially religious family. His mother was raised by non-practicing Christians; his father was raised a Muslim, but was an atheist by the time he married Obama's mother. Neither Obama nor his mom were ever nonbelievers or related to agnosticism in any way, yet she brought him up in a generally common family where he found out about religion and diverse beliefs individuals had about God. Obama is Christian.…

Supreme Court justices are more powerful than most of the kings and dictators in the present world, according to Shadow Mountain Community Church lead pastor Dr. David Jeremiah. During his Independence Day statement, the California-based pastor gave emphasis on the vacant seat left by late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and the other potential vacancies in the high court. The Christian pastor said these vacancies are the reason why Americans must vote in the upcoming presidential elections, The Blaze relays. “We are a nation of laws, not a nation of dictators, but rest assured these Supreme Court justices who sit on the bench for life wield more power than most of the kings and dictators in this world,” Dr. Jeremiah said earlier this…

Since this week we are talking about homophobia, I found this really interesting article about Prince William. It talks about how Prince William went to visit a school in London to talk about LGBT and homophobia. He said that he would confront those behind any comments and comfort the victims. The article states something that I was very surprised about. In England, no Royal has ever publicly spoken in favor of same-sex marriage and 90% of its citizen continue to live under anti-gay…

In the articles “Three Cheers for the Nanny State,” “Ban the Ban!,” and “Soda’s a Problem but…”, all three authors present their arguments with facts, opinions, and counterclaims. However, one article presents itself better than the rest. I believe that the article “Soda’s a Problem, but...” was the most convincing article. Sarah Conly- the author who wrote “Three Cheers for the Nanny State”- argues that the soda restriction is a good idea because people would be stopped from making foolish decisions that they’ll pretty definitely regret.…

Voting is a core element to the process that keeps our system of government operational. Through elections, citizens have the ability to decide on who represents them in government, be it a local official, a state or national representative, or the president. When voting for a president we should not vote based on morals, but instead what that candidate can do to help restore this country. None of these presidential candidates are suitable for the position or have morality. However, I would have to vote for Donald Trump based on his stance on immigration and national defense.…

Battles over who deserves to be an American citizen has always been a prominent debate in American society; this is especially true now. His rhetoric which has resulted in growing anti-immigrant sentiment is likely to lead to sanctuary cities, which are jurisdiction “that limit their cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)” (Mazorati 1) losing federal funding, for not complying with…
