What Makes a Good Leader? The 2016 presidential debate has two main people running, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. When one is having a self-debate on who to vote for, think about what makes a good leader and then narrow it down. Both are successful and have achieved lots of goals, but who is more willing to serve the people? Who is open-minded? Clinton has “…worked several jobs during her summers in collage”(FirstLadies). Donald Trump “owns more than 100 companies and his net worth is approximately $4 billion”(Facts about Donald Trump). As a rule, people who are more successful are usually the ones who were allowing people to help them

I believe a good quality that every leader should have is a good dream. Martin Luther King Jr. for example was a great leader because he had a dream that others could relate to. He wanted blacks to be treated equally, and with his “I have a dream” Speach it helped pass the dream along. You also need to be good at convincing people to agree with your side. If no one wants to vote for your side then your not a good leader.…

Based on my research of George H.W. Bush, I do think he was a very good and influential leader. I believe starting off serving the military gave him a better point of view of the issues revolving the nation at the time. By serving in the military he knew how to react to threats against his country in a quick and intelligent way. He gained many supporters after the Americans with Disabilities Act because the act affected more than 43 million Americans. However he had much support from Americans, he upset some by raising tax revenues.…

Anna Great job with your discussion. We both had similar ideas when it came to the strength and weaknesses of Donald Trump’s campaign. First, one strength we both identified is campaign financing. Han and Heith make the statement that wealthy candidates have advantages over challengers, since they can spend lavishly on their campaigns without wasting precious campaign time on fundraising, which is crucial to keep campaign momentum going. Trump did not have to focus on fundraising cost, like Hillary Clinton did.…

Donald Trump is a leader with the mentality of “my way or now way”. Today, his method is appropriate because jobs need to be completed as soon as possible. Everything is a race and competition these days and Trumps leadership skills are qualified to be able to complete everything in a timely fashion with high quality. Although leaders are fit for the situation they are in, there is some flaws with how they take on the task. For example, Trump’s proposal to eliminate immigration gained the popular vote but will never get the electoral vote because his proposal is ineffective.…

Without key qualities of leadership, an individual cannot fully provide their customers or its employees with the experiences they deserve. Having leaders with the skills such as honesty, accountability, the ability to inspire and to delegate, and basic communication skills are all necessary parts to becoming proven and respectable leaders within a business.…

American politician Cory Booker once stated, “Leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and example” (Booker 1). It is what a leader does and how they chose to lead that defines them rather than the letters CEO printed on their name-badge. A leader is someone with courage; someone who believes when everyone else has given up; someone who keeps moving forward despite the unending obstacles set in their path. It is leaders like these that we look for to manage organizations, businesses, and corporations, but most importantly, our country. For centuries, Americans have supported strong leaders in office, and in turn, our nation has seen growth and prosperity.…
