THE MEDIA DECLARING WAR AGAINST AMERICA. At least according to Trump’s headlines it is. On February eighteenth Frida Ghitis published her article: Why Trump wants you to hate the media on the CNN website; the article does lives true to it’s title. Ghitis expresses her own take on President Trump’s assessment of media being the true public enemy in comparative allusions, personification, and mocketive diction. “Don’t look at me” Trump’s script “cries out”, begging the audience to look in another direction claiming that there is a “threat, a danger.”…

Donald Trump was an unexpected runner for this year’s presidential election. At first, many people thought his running for the presidency was a joke. Unfortunately, as time went on, what many thought to be a joke suddenly became more serious as more and more people began to show him support and he shows no sign of dropping out anytime soon. Which is unfortunate since much of what he says is far from being presidential, let alone professional. From what I’ve seen of his speeches and debates, he often makes terrible statements about other candidates as well as other groups of people, building off of peoples hate to rally more support.…

If an immigrant has chosen to come to America they have a certain amount of time to become a citizen of the United States. The border is supposed to reduce illegal immigrants and not keep allowing immigrants to stay in America without a United States citizenship. Minorities should feel privileged to come to the United States, they are getting away from their problems in their home country and coming to a country that is free and more privileged. However, some might take advantage of America and think they do not have to obey the laws here in America. Supporters of Donald Trump are more negative about illegal immigrants and free trade agreements (Donald J. Trump, 2016).…

In “Empire of Illusion” by Chris Hedges, Hedges states that “the most essential skill...is artifice.” The dictionary definition of artifice can be paraphrased as using tricks to deceive others, someone who is clever or cunning; though I wouldn’t use clever as a description of someone who is artifice. From personal experience, being artifice is not something that can help you, matter of a fact, it can kill. Many use artifice to use others to their own benefits, even if it means turning an entire population against another.…
