Rowdy up a people and inspire thousands. As Bill Clinton explained in his DNC speech, “I want to nominate a man who’s cool on the outside, but who burns for America on the inside.” Based on the president’s speech, Obama appears to be a “down to earth” individual, one that is still fervent for the success of this country. Between the austere issues of “jobs, the economy, taxes and deficits, energy, education, war and peace” there are comforting and securing concluding sentences, and laughs from the president that lay a blanket of relief among the living crowd. This of course appeals to pathos, but as well as ethological properties.…
In Coulter’s editorial, “Trump: The Great Unifier!”, she delivers the claim that Tump unifies Americans with his immigration positions, unlike the Democrats, the white liberals, or the previous Republicans; she asserts he treats illegal immigrants like “Americans”, rather than victims. Coulter provides valid points, but that does not make her editorial correct in any form. Logos appeal is used when Coulter states Compton changed to a Mexican majority, but Coulter’s assertion that this occurred because “Mexicans moved in and decided they wanted blacks out” is not supported with any facts or data, making it unreliable. Continuing, she presents logo appeal with Anderson’s opinion on illegal immigrants “taking jobs” because he could not get a job…
To support his claim Friedman uses references to several different countries and their leadership’s decision. To convey his wariness of Trump and the future that would likely occur if he were to be elected as president during the upcoming election. He alludes to Putin and how he attempted to distract from his “economic mismanagement and illegitimacy” by seizing Crimea and burning massive amounts of foreign food imports. He also discusses China’s Securities Finance Corporation that spent the equivalent of twenty-nine billion U.S. dollars, from their government budget to stabilize their economy. The tone he uses in those two examples hints at a negative view that he has on how those leaders dealt with their country’s issues.…
Editorial: Democratic process playing out in Republican races, The Republican Editorials, March 08,2012. Romney had six wins on Super Tuesday, however the man in the lead in the only tally that matters in steadily increasing that lead. No one thinks that Romney has a chance of winning against his opponents. The subject matter is about The President race and showing that Romney won't stop fighting even though his opponents are ahead. The editor is on the side of Romney, by the way he wrote.…
Observations of Trump: Blurred background, clear foreground. He is dressed up in a black suit and white shirt with gold yellow tie. Trump is holding a red golfing bat and he has a huge smile. His eyes are squinted with wrinkles and bags around it while he gives a big smile showing his teeth. Trump’s hair seemed to be half controlled.…
On September fifth of 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that DACA will end in six months in order to give Congress time to find a solution for the 800,000 young immigrants that are part of the program. Sessions, the president and White House officials gave many reasons explaining the program’s removal, but these reasons were either false or one-sided. An article on Politifact written by Louis Jacobson, John Kruzel, Manuela Tobias and Miriam Valverde, points out all the flaws in Jeff Sessions’ announcement about ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. For example, in his announcement, Jeff Sessions said DACA ‘denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same illegal aliens to take those…
Trump has issued new executive orders that have shocked not only Americans, but also people from all over the world. Basically what these orders are to do is that they are intended to ban Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States. Even those who have been living in America for quite a while are to be deported to their countries. What is more devastating is that students who had their student visas from their home countries to come study in the USA are no more welcomed here and have to face these new abnormal orders. I think the new executive order is definitely intended to discriminate against Muslims because there were no terrorist attacks performed from people who are from these 7 countries in the U.S.…
He loves all races as he stated in his rally, "All lives matter." As a president who respects most races potentally alleviates the tension between police and the African and American community. Additionally, he stated on numerous occasions to unlock the cell, educate, and work potential. Trump fights for potential individually and collectively as a nation, the win and be a winner. Reducing people as an inmate does not fit the Trump's potential.…
This tweet written by Donald Trump is an example of the fallacy of begging the question because he contradicts his initial argument by doing the act of what he stated he would never do. Trump’s premise states that Bette Midler is an “extremely unattractive women”, however he continues by writing that he would never admit that because he believes in being politically correct. This is begging the question because he blatantly tweeted his thoughts about her and posted them online for everyone to see. Although he says he “refuses to say that”, in the same sentence, he does.…

In this essay I will be explaining the immigration in the United States that is happening right now. Throughout the essay I have gathered information on Racism, while writing on how Immigrants are being treated in the United States modenerly. The Act of Racism, is spread to many people around the world, but people don’t take into consideration about what is happening to the Immigrants trying to migrate away from that. They suffer Racism while trying to simply have a better life in the United States or anywhere. The different political parties all have different thoughts on the Immigrants.…
Mr. Trump’s Fallacy Donald Trump during his presidential campaign has been attacking his competitors on a very personal level. Donald Trump has committed the fallacy of ad hominem when he claimed Carly Fiorina should not be president because of the fact that she is a woman and because of her past failed business endeavors, and when he attacked Dr. Ben Carson on the personal fact that he has been violent in the past as a reason for Dr. Carson not to be president. Carly Fiorina is a candidate for the republican presidential campaign. She is also the only woman running on the republican side. Donald Trump has used the personal fact, that she is a woman, against her.…
Procrastination affects many people, I even procrastinated writing this paper. The ways that it affects us can be different, sometimes procrastination doesn’t affect us too much, but other time it can cause major health risks such as, stress or depression. Recognizing this, Tim Urban presented a Ted Talk on procrastination and the dangers it can have. In his Ted Talk “Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator”, Urban used pathos with a minimal amount of logos and ethos to express his message to his to the audience. Urban also used pictures to support his use of pathos.…
Through analyzing specific instances of racist and sexist comments made by Donald Trump, it will be shown how his rhetoric is harmful to domestic tranquility.…
The Democratic National Committee invited Barack Obama to give the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention. This news came as a surprise as Obama had not yet gained national attention, and was not an obvious choice when compared to other candidates. After his inspiring speech however, Obama became well known throughout America which was good news for John Kerry, as Obama’s speech was intended to persuade voters to support Kerry as president. Obama uses rhetorical devices such as climax in structure, epistrophe, and metonymy to persuade skeptical voters to vote for John Kerry as their next president. Obama makes his speech more convincing by using climax to split his speech into multiple sections; the first section is used…
