Donald Trump: How Will The Syrian War End?

Amid the unpredictable, impulsive and erratic behaviors of President Donald Trump, President Vladimir V. Putin and President Bashar al-Assad, it is difficult to foresee a diplomatic solution to the Syrian civil war. The United States’ continued involvement in battling, providing financial support and assisting specific allies engaged in the Syrian proxy war impacts the coalition between the US and Russia, the affiliation with Syria and dealings amongst middle eastern countries; continual involvement or lack thereof, will result in a worldwide battle or place the US in perilous economic and political positions dependent upon whom we remain loyal and whom we concurrently forsake.

Putin prefers strong leadership and Trump may have retaliated with the missile attacks to show his fearlessness. Trump may have created more controversy, albeit there are multiple assumptions of his actual intent. There are questions of the authenticity of his word and the statements of Malak Chabkoun regarding Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her concern with the chemical attacks on Syrian civilian’s. Could Donald Trump have been initiating the attacks in part to alleviate his daughter’s distress (Aljazeera, 2017)? Does Trump have another agenda with Russia? Why wasn’t the FSA warned of the impending attack, as Russia was? With quick retaliation followed by criticism, Trump’s response does not give any clear indication of his plans with Syria. If the United States withdraws from involvement in the war, President Donald Trump will be ridiculed and the media will exaggerate. Syria will become a worse battleground than prior to Trump’s involvement; his mission of eliminating President Bashar al-Assad will have been for nothing since he later mentions that was no longer a priority. With President Bashar al-Assad back in power, Syria will continue to crumble, more innocent civilians will be killed at his hand and dangerous factions across the area will rise again. With more and more fighting in war-torn Syria it will raise casualties of war. Homelessness and poverty stricken citizens already face many challenges just to stay alive. They must find shelter and food just to survive this messy civil war. They will have it even worse than before (Mundy, 2017). Syria’s government and country will be destroyed; depending on who gains control of Syria, the United States will become a retaliatory

In the opening pages of their book Mistakes Were Made authors Tavris and Aronson note that politicians conspicuously engage in the art of self-justification (3). Politicians rarely admit mistakes they have made in the past and instead opt to find ways to justify their actions. This often presents cases of dissonance whereby politicians seem to be out of touch with reality.…

Working with an international community, the United States and its allies are going to find it hard to finally deal with them. With so many countries and factions dipping their feet into the water that is Syria. The US is going to have to navigate the waters carefully. Though the US should keep supporting the Syrian Rebels, they should not proceed with a full scale confrontation with the Syrian Government, but, the United States does need to stand its ground on the issue.…

The United States believe we must go to war and “Degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL, through a comprehensive and sustained counterterrorism strategy” (Whitehouse). I believe we should not deploy our troops, or our country into the middle of the Syria’s civil war. To begin, we just got out of a war with the Middle East. In the beginning if the terrorist group from Iraq never attacked us we would have never gone to this war.…

Isolation versus Intervention: Where Does the United States Stand? The argument for and against American involvement in foreign conflicts has been a debate for decades. The United States has historically attempted to remain neutral in world conflicts. During the outbreak of World War II, the United States maintained its isolationist policies until intervention was deemed necessary. In the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, the US has remained mostly neutral but has some intervention tendencies.…

Citizens of the United States would suggest that we stay out of any foreign affairs in the Middle East due to the fact that we have been involved with them for quite some time now. To oust the dictator of Syria would be a major test due to the fact that we are so heavily involved with MiddleEast it may cause bigger problems in the future. The ramifications of this action would negatively affect the U.S. and set us back into another war that no one wants to happen. The United States involvement would not do anything but make a situation worse. For example if the government of Syria tried to overthrow our President there would be instant tension and a sense of disrespect which is why it is important that the United States is careful about how they handle this situation.…

If the US were to strive for peaceable upkeep in the Middle East, then they wouldn’t need to keep the many troops stationed in the land, but rather train few specific individuals for teaching the Middle Eastern people sustainability; this minimalistic approach will save the US economy from the billions of dollars spent on warfare. This “teach a man to fish” concept will ultimately leave the Middle East with the tools necessary to create their own sustainable government without draining the budget of the United States. By minimizing the amount of troops sent as well as ending the violent outreach, fewer soldiers will be harmed on both sides which will benefit the wellbeing of the regions. So far in the US, “One out of every two…

1). I believe that in general it may seem that helping the enemy of an enemy would be beneficial, but it can prove to be very detrimental. The United States funded the Afghan Mujahideen in their war against the Soviet Union because we wanted to harm the Soviet Union. This eventually backfired because after the Soviets left Afghanistan, the Taliban (who were primarily an outgrowth of the Mujahideen) took control of Afghanistan in 1996. 2).…

The people of the US should help bring this world into an age of peace with our enemies and focus more on helping the population of Americans that are homeless and sick by bringing better healthcare. The average American lives up to 77, with better healthcare this could hopefully boost up to the high 80’s or even if we put all of our focus maybe even the 90’s.…
