The Trump campaign is guilty of stating three very serious fallacies: the first is ad hominem.Ad hominem is used as a distraction in political campaigns to allocate time from serious issues to mundane personal quarrels . The second fallacies that the Trump campaign has committed is poisoning the well. To discredit an opponent with before the debate begins, this tactic discredits the opponent before the debate has begun. The final Fallacy the trump campaign has committed is slippery slope, which employs a scare tactic to deceive the voter into thinking that the ramification of not voting for their campaign will lead to far more disastrous consequences. By playing the fears of the people Donald Trump is fooling the voters into thinking that the world is in danger and he is the one to fix it. Playing to dark grim music a picture of the San Bernardino shooters was shown with a man quoting donald Trump saying “President Obama can call it what he wants, but, Donald Trump calls it radical Islamic terrorism”, the commercial then suggests that a ban on a Muslim immigrants will be part of a solution to this issues. By suggesting that Muslim immigration is a reason for such horrible acts of violence is irrational and harbours xenophobia within the minds of Americans. The argument that this is a war on “political correctness” is ridiculous. The idea letting in Muslim migrants will lead to an increase in terrorism has no basis. Like most religions muslims vary in beliefs, A study conducted by Pew research finds that the vast majority disagree with ISIS ideology.
