On August 31, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona Donald Trump recited a speech for a campaign rally on the immigration problems in our country. In addition, Donald’s speech was also on how he believes he will solve the issues on immigration in our country when elected president. Throughout Donald Trump's speech he had to appeal to his audience so his audience can agree with his opinion, to gain votes in the election. Donald supports his claims with evidence to give his audience. From my perspective I believe that Donald supports his claims with evidence very well with his use of rhetoric. However, I don't agree with his evidence that doesn’t have strong structure behind it.

An example of how Donald used Ethos to appeal to his audience is how Donald allowed the audience to know that he believes that its our right as a sovereign nation to choose immigrants that we think are the likeliest to thrive and flourish here. Donald Trump making that statement is one of his many attempts to persuade the audience with the use of ethos. Following that statement, he begins to talk about the past on how countless innocent American lives have been stolen because our politicians have failed in their duty to secure our borders and enforce our laws. Donald Trump used the example of our nation having countless innocent American lives being stolen by illegal immigrants to get the audience to agree with his statement that “our politicians have failed in their duty to secure our borders and enforce our laws.” (Trump, Donald.
