Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States, but before he was president, he was an enterprising businessman and a famous television personality. On June 14, 1946; at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Centers, Queens, New York City; Frederick Trump and Mary Anne Trump welcomed a fourth child to their family. He was born into a relatively wealthy family with siblings: Maryanne, Fred Jr., Elizabeth, and Robert (Youngest Brother; he came after Donald). Fred and Mary Anne might not have known it at that exact moment, but they were holding the future President of the United States and one of the future leaders of the business world, Donald John Trump.

At the beginning of his reign, Trump stuck to real estate investments. The first noticeable changes in the organization began in 1975 he signed a partnership with the Hyatt Hotel Corporation and changed the Commodore into the ‘Grand Hyatt.’ Trump rented a site on Fifth Avenue, in 1979, for Trump Tower in, a $200 million apartment-retail complex, which eventually opened in 1982. In 1980 his acquisition of a partnership with the Holiday Inns Corporation resulted in the opening of Harrah’s at Trump Plaza, a $250 million hotel and casino complex, in 1982. In Eventually in 1986, he bought out his partners and renamed the complex Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. After the success of Trump Plaza, he purchased a hotel-casino in Atlantic City from Hilton Hotels which he renamed Trump Castle. However Trump’s empire did experience a major setback in the early 1990s, the slowing economy had lessened his income and eventually lead his organization to bankruptcy. The Trump Organization and Trump’s personal debt both added up to around $10 billion, and in order to avoid filing bankruptcy Trump convinced the banks to loan him money and postpone the interest and principal payment on his loans (both new and old).
