He did this to encourage private businesses and other countries to contribute to cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions. This order appalled the American Petroleum Institute, saying it would increase the cost of energy, because natural gas companies would have to follow regulations, increasing the labor. However, making natural gas more expensive will cause the change to green energy to be more accessible and less expensive, as it would be needed more after natural gas becomes less dependent. This order boosts the condition of the environment around us, improving our air and allowing for less natural gas production and new green innovation. Keeping this regulation could prevent 3,600 premature deaths, 1,700 heart attacks, 90,000 asthma attacks, and 300,000 missed work days and school days by lessening the pollution in our air (EPA). Trump, however, is repealing this order too, uncaring about how many lives he could save by leaving the order …show more content…
The purpose of the Clean Power Plan is to reduce carbon pollution from power plants. The EPA will individually help states set goals and help to make those goals achievable by giving the resources to do so. As emissions go down, power plants will have to invest in green energy alternatives power plants that release carbon dioxide. This rule is temporarily being held up by the Supreme Court, who is questioning if the government should be able to regulate power plant businesses this way. Without the Clean Power Plan, emissions will go up, and coal production will rise, as Trump wants to invest in the coal industry and build it back up to give coal miners their jobs back. Cutting these emissions year by year, however, would increase investment in green energy and create more jobs within that field. If the Clean Power Plan were still in place, carbon pollution would be below thirty-two percent of 2005 levels by the year 2030, ensuring that the level will continue to go down
