This quote said by Rudy Ruettiger explains how you should never give up on your dream. Shawn Grim and Rudy Ruettiger both know this too well. Rudy Ruettiger was a kid who had a dream to play football for Notre Dame, At the same time. Grim lives in a small town in the Appalachian Mountains and his dream was to go to college and graduate.
Struggling with money was a big deal for Ruettiger and Grim. Rudy worked for a minimum wage job, helping clean up and stuff around the football field so he was a janitor. He was very desperate and would do anything just to get a job and to be apart of

In Rudy lifetime his father had no encouragement and his brother would laugh at it. Rudy was not doing good in high school. It was hard for them to do things because if rudy failed to get into Notre Dame and get a job and play football he would have to work at a steel mill which is highly dangers. While Shawn would work in a coal mine because that was like the only job you can get in Appalachia. But before all of the college and success Rudy's family did not have any encouragement for him, and while him and his brothers would play football when they were little they would not let him play that much and they would tease him and make fun of him. Not just his family and friends would tease him and had no encouragement but his teachers would do the same thing. His teachers would think and say “not everyone can go to college” just because he got bad grades. On the other hand, Grim had really bad struggles at home too his stepdad was an alcoholic, his family was not trustworthy at all, they would steal money from each other. Rudys dream was to play football for Notre Dame, He was motivated by dreams and the people he said he would not succeed constantly he would hear that and he did not believe them or give up. While trying to get into Notre Dame he met this Janitor his name was fortune. Fortune helped him the most and believed and him and told him to never give up. However Grims dream was just to be the first in his family to receive a scholarship, his family was very poor.
