Most people have morals and strong beliefs and they should not compromise their core values or they aren’t truly values at all. As said by Andrew Carnegie, "The 'morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised." This statement is very true as a compromise is not as helpful when a situation is as simple as black and white. For example, if someone truly believes in the fact that “honesty is the best policy,” that person should most definitely not compromise their belief if they are trying to spare someone’s feelings. Often times, people will see the line between right and wrong or black and white as hazy or gray. This statement can best be represented by this quote from Gary Ackerman, “You can compromise between good, better, and best, and you can compromise between bad and worse and terrible.
