In this story the protagonist first has the setting taking place in an army based prison camp where he has been captured. He also makes it out to be right next to a corral that is used for animals, which need to stretch their legs since they have been cooped up. After this short story started the theme ended up changing as the protagonist ended up having a flashback to the past. Where he introduces the antagonist named Don Lupe. From the introduction you get this sense that Don Lupe does not have a regard for life. As the movement from the introduction and still remaining inside the protagonist’s flashback, you will notice Don Lupe threatens Juvencio by saying to him, “if you put one more of your animals in my pasture I will kill it.”(pge351
