It was painting of Don Hall with Frida Kahlo standing side by side, it was a very simple painting but very well done. However, there was a particular aspect in Frida’s appearance that stood out to me, which were her lipstick. I have always seen Frida will her iconic bright lipstick and not seeing that in this painting made me wonder why he did not include her bright lips, but that is when I realized something. This painting was supposed to be simple so if he would have painted those red lips then it would have taken away the attention of the viewer from the rest of the painting. In the painting, Don Hall and Frida have parrots on their shoulders and that was done on purpose because Frida has several paintings in which she includes parrots.. The leaves with a yellow tint and butterflies in the background are also items that have been seen in a painting by Frida Kahlo. Overall, the simplicity of the painting really appealed to me and since I love Frida Kahlo, I was really excited to see that Don Hall incorporated some of the elements from her own
