I was born in the Dominican Republic, to parents with education no greater than 8th grade. I have always been fascinated with astronomy, since my dad bought me my first fake telescope, while we were living in Puerto Rico. Receiving Isaac Asimov The Birth and Death of Stars only strengthened this at age 5. Then life got on the way I grew up between Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, completing high school in Santo Domingo, where the concept of doctoral studies was foreign at the time, And the closes thing to become a researcher was becoming a physician

I studied liberal studies with a concentration in life, and was in the path Biochemistry and medicine because I felt it was a safe zone for employment, since I had not met many astrophysics in my lie, nor have seen many astrophysics that look like me! The closes were Miguel Alcubierrer and he is Theoretical Physics after all. …show more content…
I know this program will be challenging, to be ready I will need to become my won mini mathematician and theoretical physics, but I also know that there is nothing I cant learn with the right
