Meow, meow, meow. The normal cat noise right, who likes cats? Mr. Roering obviously doesn't, too bad, cats are very interesting creatures. I like cats as you all probably know, and I know a lot about cats, you can too if you just listen closely to what I say. These are all the facts you'll need to know. Let's go back in time to when cats began, 5,000 years ago cats were treasured by Egyptians. Especially royals, King Tut probably loved cats too. Egyptians loved their cats so much that sometimes, when their cat died they would mummify them. They would wrap them up in cloths, normally white cloth, and keep them. The cat goddess Bastet, was the most sacred of all figures worshiped. She was blessed with the head of a cat.

Black cats most of all. If you owned a cat back then you would be thought to be a evil being with magic, or as we call them now, a witch. Cats were hated so much that people would build live cats into walls of buildings, because it was considered good luck. People would hunt, torture, and even sacrifice them so as to please others. Hundreds of cats were burned alive at religious feasts and holidays, those monsters. Of course that didn't go on forever, cats were also a favorite subject in art. People would hang picture of cats in their homes because they believed it would keep rodents away like rats and mice. In Japan people would buy a statue of a cat called, Maneki Neko who was supposed to ensure happiness and good luck. In Japanese stores, you normally see that statue of a cat with its paw raised up, that is to symbolize a greeting and bring happiness. Many fables and tales about cats are part of most people's
