I choose to submit a proposal on the subject of Domestic Violence
Education, for the prevention of learned abusive behaviors, for children and as
many as can make a difference in the life of a woman or child. DV is a
problem in every type of home: teachers, doctors/nurses, counselor’s and even
lawmakers could have this issue. Decision makers are flooded with this issue on
a daily basis and they are deciding whether the person(s) are held going to be
held accountable either through action via case law or via a jury, however,
sometimes the jury doesn’t have all of the evidence and the offender gets away
with it. This is an ongoing issue and I’ve personally witnessed Social Services

This isn’t just about being beaten it goes deeper emotionally and affects families for generations. Women in rural areas are a unique. They are usually overlooked as a population at high risk for domestic violence. Stereotypes of rural life and battered women may contribute to the health professional 's oversight of these women. Navin, Stockum, and Campbell-Ruggaard (1993) found that rural battered women experienced increased isolation and financial dependence, greater patriarchal family structure and fundamental religious beliefs, and decreased social services including use of the criminal justice system, than did battered women in other settings. This population needs healthcare team members to interrupt this cycle of abuse as much as, if not more than, other women. Several demographic characteristics have significantly predicted the likelihood of reported screening. Studies also show that married women were less likely to report lifetime screening than were single women or unmarried women living with a partner. Women were also more likely to report lifetime screening if one or more child under the age of 12 lived in their home. …show more content…
There are issues that surround abuse and it affects all of our communities. When one sits idly by without stepping in it is as if you are saying it can continue. The changes to a community would be a safer place to live.
Actions to Take as Readers As one sees this information they then have a responsibility to act if there is a situation where they suspect behaviors that are not correct, rather than turning their heads they should rush to it as a civil duty. What Action Am I Supposed To Take? By calling in and reporting any suspicious behavior you are helping to uncover possible abusive behavior that would otherwise continue. The major problem with this issue is that almost every woman and child is silent on the issue, even to family and friends. Call the police if you hear yelling or anything that seems questionable.
