How Much Is Society Aware Of Inequality With Women In Another Country

How much is America aware of inequality with women in another country? How much is society aware of Muslim women struggling with domestic violence in their marriage, the gender roles, and education? Pakistan is currently the most dangerous county in the world for a women to live in, and the ways the country treats women with marriage, gender, education, and domestic violence is prohibiting women from becoming a strong, educated, and independent women they can be. In Pakistan, The men in the families are given a higher education and are taught more than women, who are not given much education when they are expected to learn how to be mothers, to cook and clean. The family will use the death of the victim to restore the families respect and honor. Men use the women as their property, if the women refuses a marriage arrangement, wants a divorce, speaks to other men, or is raped they could possibly receive the honor killing. Most of the honor killings would be from women wanting to marry on her own. In the year 2011, it was reported that 605 honor killings were women and 115 were men, therefore in total there was 720 honour killings in Pakistan. From 1998 to 2004 in Pakistan, there were 2,700 women victims of the honour killings and only 1,700 were men. Women who are killed in honour killings will be reported of dying from suicide or accidents. This is a very difficult law to change, since it has been around for so long. I think if the United States was more aware of how unfair these killings are to women, we can help put an end to it. Sadly, I do not know if there is much people outside of Pakistan could do to change this law. However, by standing up and supporting women’s rights in Pakistan, it could help persuade other women to stand up for her
