Domestic Violence In Mr. John Sweeney's Case

According to what was reported to dispatch, a neighbor heard a female yelling from the location and reported the yelling suspicious.

When law enforcement arrived on scene at 8184 Belford Way, Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida 32940, I made contact with two individuals, Ms. Jacqueline Shearer (Arrestee) and Mr. John Sweeney (Victim), who advised they have been dating for approximately four years and lived together as a family for approximately three. After both of subject were separated, they both provided statements that alleged domestic violence and there were no witnesses to the incident.

According to her statement, Mr. Sweeney drug her in the house during an argument, but later stated he pushed her in the house. After he got her in the house, he grabbed her head and slammed it on a chair. An argument

Shearer, I spoke with Mr. Sweeney. According to Mr. Sweeney, an argument started with Ms. Shearer. During the argument, Ms. Shearer struck him on the lower back with a small metal rod and stretched him on the left side of his face. When I observed Mr. Sweeney’s lower back area, I observed light redness across his under right back area, which is consistent with being hit by a small rod. He also received a few small lacerations on the left side of his face and appeared to be from finger nails. Mr. Sweeney also showed two video clips. One was from the night before and the other one was from the incident earlier today (September 8, 2017). In the first video, they were in a bathroom arguing with each other. Ms. Shearer appeared to be the primary aggressor during the verbal argument. It appears Ms. Shearer struck Mr. Sweeney with an object, but it was out of picture. In the video, Ms. Shearer later stated she struck him in the video. In the second video, there was another verbal argument between the couple, but the couple was out of picture.
