When it is established that the child is safe, the parent’s treatment should be focused on how they can better the child’s sense of security and how they can have an empathic connection with them. The assessment should also identify red flags that indicate that the parent needs more intensive work to address these issues, in order for the child to receive specific work this must be done first.
