As children grow into teens, their lives become more stressful. The homework, social life, extracurricular activities, they all require time. What is a serious problem that teens face today? Teens face many hardships, but one that can either make or break someone is at domestic violence. Whether it is between a student and their parents or just their parents. Students who don’t experience respect at home, will not show respect to their friends and teachers. If a student observes fighting all the time at their home, that student will not experience the compassion they need. They will soon begin to treat people without compassion, which leads to bullying. All respect is gone, not only for the teacher, but for the other students as well. For example, if a teacher were to give a students a bad grade, they would normally just ask how they can fix it. But if that student doesn’t have any respect, they are just going to freak out until they get their way. Students who encounter violence at home will be more susceptible to anger toward others, resulting in anger management problems. As I grow up, it becomes easier to pick out the people that undergo domestic violence. By just looking at the way they react to things, leads me to believe there is some type of problem in their life. When I was younger, I had a friend that would get mad about every little thing, but now that I’m older, I understand what that friend had to go through. I was young and did not realize the hard times that my friend faced at home, her parents were always fighting. People may believe that there are more important problems teens face, but this one definitely stands out.
