Domestic violence death trends for the United States was gathered on the Bureau of Justice website. The information provided does not detail the information to at any level of granularity other than the federal level. Additionally, information was only available from 1976 – 2005. Death trends for the state of California were unavailable. The California Attorney General does however provide the number of domestic violence calls for assistance that was used for this study. There was available additional data from various sources, this data however was not used as it did not correspond to Santa Clara Counties collected data either in figures or in years.
