There are several healthcare partnerships in my community that have influenced nursing practice. Advocacy programs and shelters have tried to provide essential services to victims of domestic violence and abuse. Advocates for domestic violence and abuse do face some barriers such as working with individuals from different backgrounds as well as accessing services. Hence, domestic violence and abuse advocates focus not only on victim services such as providing safe housing in the community, but also on prevention through community education and policy establishment.
