In to society domestic violence has become a very serious issue because of the number of people who have been badly hurt or even killed. Although, it is not always reported there are still a number of cases that have been reported which has brought about new laws and ways to protect the victims of this crime. However, these laws and protection orders don’t always keep the victim safe from their abuser. Yet, they do help some of the people they protect because the victim as well as the abuser abide by the order which in return helps them stay safe.

Therefore, they have to find an advocacy in order to get over the trauma they have experience due to domestic violence. Now there is a company called Legal Momentum that advocates for someone who has been a victim of domestic violence so that they won’t lose their job because they have been a victim of domestic violence and at that time they cannot come to work (legalmomentum.org. n.d.). They also train employers and unions on how to deal with the victim and their rights as well as promote new legislation in order to help the people of domestic violence (legalmomentum.org. n.d.). Furthermore, this is done because they realize that women of domestic violence can be the target of employment discrimination so they make sure that their primary goal is to strengthen and expand the employment rights as well as economic security of victims of a gender-based violence (legalmomentum.org. n.d.). Another advocacy is the Family Violence Prevention and Service Act (FVPSA) which provides the main federal funding to help victims of domestic violence and their dependents (such as children) (womenshealth.gov. n.d.). Therefore, any programs funded through FVPSA provides shelter as well as any other related help they may need (womenshealth.gov. n.d.). However, in order for them to do this they have to work through a few main services or agencies such as Formula Grants, The National Domestic Violence Hotline, and The Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances(DELTA) Program in order to get the victims the proper help they need (womenshealth.gov.
